Update on our Crazy Cancer Life!

Hi Friends!

I wanted to send you an update on our crazy cancer life!  This week Andrew went out of town for business to Minnesota.  The day he left his hair started to fall out.  He wanted me to schedule pictures ASAP because he was anticipating that his hair would fall out soon.  Our pastor also does photography so I called him Saturday evening and asked if he could take our pictures on Sunday.  He graciously agreed and we got some family photos the day before Andrew’s hair fell out.  I know it was hard for Andrew to be away from us while he was dealing emotionally with his hair falling out.  Before he left for his trip, I reminded him that he will be the sexiest bald guy I’ve ever seen!!

We are gearing up for round 2 of Chemo this Saturday.  I can tell Andrew is already mentally, emotionally and physically anxious about getting sick again (who wouldn’t be).  I’m also anxious about watching him suffer again.  It is not idle for any of us, but we focus on the good and move forward.  This sounds crazy but some of my best memories with Andrew are spending 7 hours together in a hospital bed while he gets Chemo.  He doesn’t get sick while taking the Chemo so we get to talk, he helps me work on my business, I help him with his business, we dream together, we befriend the hospital staff and we laugh a lot.  Of course I hate the aftermath of the Chemo, but I do enjoy the uninterrupted quality time I get to spend with him before he gets sick.

I recently took on a new adventure (crazy timing I know, but I’m kinda nuts like that).  I’ve decided I am committed to becoming a life coach, so I’m taking classes (via conference call) every Monday from a life coach in New York (www.thersvprev.com) for 1 year.  I’ve decided in the midst of this craziness I need to have something that is just for me and this is what I’ve chosen!  I had my first class last week and I’m learning some great tools that I’m excited to share.  If any of you want some free life coaching (aka you’ll let me practice the tools and techniques I’m learning in my class on you) send me a message and I’ll set it up!  I’m very excited about this new adventure and it’s been so nice to have Andrew’s support and encouragement.  He is my biggest cheerleader and I hope I do the same for him.

I want you to know how deeply you have impacted mine and Andrew’s life.  The way that you care, share, serve, love and pray has changed our lives.  I will never be the same because of you.  I’ve seen the best of humanity during this challenging time and it’s all because of your love for our family.  Thank you for walking the walk and talking the talk.  You’ve shown me what true Christianity and unconditional love is all about.  I love you deeply.

OK Bailey, I am a true guinea pig and a tough challenge for your class if you want to tackle it! Had cancer, still suffering 6 years later with the aftermath. Cannot work so my life career (marketing and human communications) for the past 27 years has come to a complete stand still. I try to volunteer my skills, if health permits, but life??? Boy if anyone needs a coach to figure out my future, it’s me! You and Andrew are in our prayers continually!! Mary and Mark both know how to reach me. Hugs — Alicia
