Your Best Life Later

Hi There!

I’m so pumped to share some exciting news with you today! I recently received the first updated copy of my late husband, Andrew’s, very first book, Your Best Life Later! This is one of my favorite books of Andrew’s. It’s a bit sentimental for me because I fell in love with him during the process of reading this book. The Cliff Notes version:

I met Andrew on a blind date set up by two of our friends while we were at Baylor University. A week later, I took him country western dancing at my Chi Omega function. On the drive back home from the event, Andrew told me his story of battling cancer when he was 18. He told me how it transformed what he thought was important at the time, namely football, girls, popularity, etc., into a growing relationship with God. We were finishing up the semester and about to go on Christmas break when Andrew asked me if I wanted to read a manuscript for a book he had just finished writing. I said, “Yes.” I devoured the book within a few days. I was blown away by Andrew’s journey and the wisdom he had gained from the challenges in his life. I knew that he was special and even though I had only known him for a few weeks, after reading his book, I felt like I’d known him my entire life. So when he sent me three dozen roses on Christmas and asked me to be his girlfriend, the answer was clearly, “Yes.” The rest is history!

As you know, I’ve been on a mission to keep Andrew’s legacy alive through sharing his books. I had the opportunity to be with him every day and to watch how he lived his life with character and integrity. I saw how much inspiration and talent he had to offer others. Time was the only thing holding him back from living his dreams and sharing his wisdom with the world. In my eyes, he passed the baton to me, so I can share his brilliant insights and to help carry on his legacy in hopes of inspiring, connecting, and empowering those facing life’s various challenges. Your Best Life Later is such a hidden gem most people didn’t even know Andrew had written. Since Andrew didn’t have the funds at the time to make the book all he hoped it would be, I recently invested in the project. I’m happy to reintroduce Your Best Life Later!

Here is a little preview on what this book is about!

Andrew Heard was living the high school dream: a celebrated athlete, his name in the papers, the perfect girlfriend, and zooming popularity – the quintessential “All-American Boy” from Cuero, Texas. That is, until he was diagnosed with stage four Hodgkin’s Lymphoma his senior year. From the football field to the hospital waiting room, Andrew’s vivid descriptions of games, cancer treatments, and his connections with the Almighty will resonate with anyone who has ever struggled with their own faith. This moving autobiography is a must-read for its honest examination of how easy it is to deviate from God’s plan for us when we fear the opinions of the crowd more than we believe in God. Andrew’s true story is a heartfelt appeal to examine how we are living our lives now so that we can reach our best lives later.

There are certain themes in life that are timeless and Andrew’s story is just as applicable today as it was when he wrote it in 2007. I highly recommend this book for teenagers and if you love football, then you will love Andrew’s action-packed descriptions of his games. Get ready to feel connected, inspired, and empowered to live your best life! You can pre-order the book today at http://www.ellieproject.com/collections/book. I will sign all pre-ordered books.
